Yoga Classes Now Available!

As some of you know, I have been a yoga instructor for nine years. Most of that time was at Breathe Yoga Studio in the Junction neighbourhood which like all other fitness studios, had to shut down in-person classes during the pandemic.

I have missed teaching these last several months and am excited to let you know that I will offer private and two-person classes starting in October! These classes will be in the same space that I do massage and safety will continue to be top priority.

In addition to safety during Covid-19, there are so many benefits to a private or almost private class. I will be able to tailor the classes to your goals and offer direct feedback during the class and modify things if necessary.

Safety

Just like we do with booking a massage treatment, I will ask that you fill out a Covid pre-screen. When you arrive for a class, you will wear a mask and I will wear a mask and I will ask that you sanitize your hands at the door. I will also go through the Covid screening questions with you again. I will also ask that you bring your own yoga mat. Once you are set up on your mat, you can remove your mask but I will keep mine on as I will be talking throughout the class. I will provide props (blocks and potentially weights/bands) that are disinfected between classes. For two-person classes, make sure that the person you are with is someone you live with or who is in your ‘bubble’.

Yoga Style

If you’re familiar with yoga, the style that I teach is Vinyasa. Basically what that means is that there is a flow to the class between the postures. Because these are private or semi-private classes though, it means that I can make the class suit you and your needs/goals. I really focus on the strengthening aspect of yoga which can mean holding a challenging pose for a while, or adding repetition to a pose or adding some resistance (weights/bands). Everyone can benefit from more strength! And especially when our lifestyle can have us sitting for so much of the day. Don’t worry, there will be stretching too and every class ends with a 5-minute rest. And because I’m a massage therapist, that will probably include a nice head, hand or foot massage while you are blissing out!

Single private class $80+HST

Yoga for two $120+HST

5-class pass (private) $375+HST

5-class pass (yoga for two) $550 + HST
